Nicholas Wong

Nicholas Wong was born into a family of photographers, cinematographers, actors, and writers who recognized Nick’s creative spark early on and encouraged him to pursue his dreams.
With an eye for filmmaking and a storyteller’s heart, Nick studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he gained extensive production experience in the NYU community. During the summer of 2005 Nick studied at FAMU, the Czech Republic’s premier film school. The following spring, Nick directed a behind-the-scenes documentary of the hit ABC Television show “Extreme Home Makeover.” In his senior year at NYU Nick was chosen to write, direct and edit his own film, “House of Wong,” which was awarded Best Drama at the 2008 Vine Short Fest and was screened at film festivals around the world.
Nick received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from NYU in 2008. In 2009 Nick traveled to Hong Kong where he directed a feature length documentary about The Hong Kong Ballet that helped raise half a million dollars for the non-profit dance company. Nick continued to direct projects in Hong Kong over the next year before returning to the States to direct a documentary on renowned human rights activist, Jack Healey. Nick filmed Mr. Healey for nearly two years, documenting his speaking engagements, meetings, organizing efforts, and protests in Washington D.C., Oslo, San Francisco and China.
Most recently Nick honed his directing skills at Baron Brown Studios, a touchstone for many Academy Award winning writers, directors and actors. During this time, Nick produced music videos for upcoming Los Angeles-based musicians. He is currently in preproduction on a feature-length film about legendary R & B singer James Ingram, and music producer Quincy Jones. He also directed and produced a twelve-part web series starring Golden Globe Best Actress-winner, Gina Rodreqez, entitled “I love Lucy and Bekka.”
